Health and safety issues for composition writing sessions and the performance of them:
Lots of cables will always provide a trip hazard. I will work around this by exporting all final songs in a flexible MP3 file format so it can be played easily from a variety of devices, often not requiring any cables.
Excessive noise levels are a risk to hearing. The headphones and software I will use for composition have built in sound level recognition that will automatically warn me if I have been listening to an excessive decibel level for a prolonged amount of time. I will research safe decibel levels before performing anything publicaly to ensure it is safe. When I mix and master by compositions before exporting them as MP3 files I will ensure that the peak volume level will be at the 'zero' crossing and so will not distort if it is too loud. When I listen back to all my compositions I will make sure they are 'normalised' to each other so there will not be any sharp sudden peaks in volume.
Another issue would be with my own health and the amount of time I spend using the computer software and technology. I will make sure I take regular breaks every 20-30 minutes to let my eyes adjust and help to limit the amount of extended periods of time that I spend in front of a computer screen.
